Books about science and outer space are fun to do, but they are a lot of work because the drawings have to be accurate. It takes a lot of research to find out what everything really looks like. And sometimes nobody really knows.When I absolutely can't find any information about what something looks like I have Steve help me. He's especially good a drawing machines.

Scientists are finding out so much new stuff all the time that science books can get out of date.

That's why I've illustrated WHAT THE MOON IS LIKE twice! The first time was in 1986, but it had to be completely redone only twenty years later!

Here's the same picture from both versions. I hope you think the newer one looks better! The newer one looks a bit like Warner, New Hampshire, where I live.
